About me
Hi, my name is Martin, founder of Malago Studio.
I'm a technical leader with 12+ years of experience in product and engineering at early-stage startups. Most recently, I led product at Scarlet, accelerating medical software certification from 3+ years to 6 months and through a $17.5m Series A.
I bring a strategic product mindset and am also hands-on as a software engineer. This means I can move fast, work independently, and get stuck into whatever needs solving. I'm the person to call when you've got a product or engineering challenge and need it solved quickly.
My services
Fractional technical leadership (3-6 months)
You need someone to step in and support your product and engineering teams – setting up strong processes, helping the team ship faster, and making sure the most important work is prioritised, scoped, and delivered. I build trust with teams and founders quickly, and at this stage in my career, I've seen most of the common challenges startups face.
Sprint projects (2-4 weeks)
You need to test something fast – maybe a new AI feature, product, or market. I'll design and build a prototype and get it in front of users, so you can make decisions based on real data. My generalist skill set means I can work independently across ideation, design, research, and build.
